Bali trip part one - Alam Shanti

In August 2012, we made a decision that we want go to Bali for a winter break. Immediately I started searching for hotels and flight options.

Trip Advisor was my source of advice for hotel selection; we made a decision to stay in 2 places while in Bali, to explore the island better and not to get bored in one place. We got super bored in Turkey while on summer holidays for 2 weeks in one place.

Quick search on trip advisor, suggested Alman Shanti as the best place to stay in Ubud, with the highest rating. I read the reviews carefully and made a reservation. I wanted the house with the private pool, as my daughter is a fan of swimming, and luckily it was available during the dates that we planned to be there. We stayed in Gangga room, which is the second floor of the house with the private pool. The second floor has spectacular view of the rice field,

The reviews on trip advisor about this hotel are here
The location of the resort is great, away from busy Ubud streets, with the shuttle services available all day long; just request it 30 minutes in advance. Our house was facing the rice fields with a piece of jungle between us. We watched the jungle squirrels jump from one palm to another.

The Spa is very nice, we liked it a lot. The spa facility was clean, the design was nice, and of course the therapists were superb. My husband says he got the best massage there (p.s. we tried many spa centers in Bali)
